Evoke Tintype Workshop

Tintypes, wet-plate photography done on a thin sheet of metal, had a relatively short time as a cutting-edge technique – but they have since been embraced as a beautiful and rare art form. See the magic for yourself in this special workshop with local tintype photographer Maureen Feely. During this one-day workshop, you will learn about the history of the method, sit for your own portrait, and take part in the step-by-step process of how a tintype is made from pouring collodion on an aluminum plate to varnishing the final image. This class is perfect for couples looking for a fun date idea or someone who wants to make a gift for a beloved family member that lasts a lifetime. Open to all levels – both seasoned photographers and first-time students are welcome!

The fee includes all supplies and materials as well as your unique tintype to take home.
